ASIR Institute Executive Director Professor Jean - Marie Nianga

Jean-Marie Nianga is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Lille, France, and Vice President of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at ASIR, France. His main research areas include mechanical engineering and materials science, especially in the application of medical materials.
Research field:
Professor Nyonga’s research focuses on the mechanical behavior of structures and materials, especially in the fractal analysis of stress, thermodynamics and surface roughness. His research also deals with the fracture mechanics of piezoelectric materials, which are widely used in medical devices due to their ability to generate electrical charges under mechanical stress. His co-development of theoretical models for the homogenization of piezoelectric materials has improved the durability and performance of these materials in medical and industrial applications.
In the field of biomedical materials, Professor Nyonga’s research has contributed to improving the properties of materials used in prosthetics and medical implants, in particular durability, mechanical properties and the interaction of synthetic materials with biological tissues. His research on surface roughness and contact surfaces has played a key role in improving the biocompatibility and wear resistance of medical implants, ensuring that devices such as prosthetics remain efficient over the long term.
